How to Set Up a Proxy in TexAu
Follow these easy-to-understand steps to configure and assign proxies to your automations in TexAu. Using a proxy helps ensure your tasks run smoothly, safely, and without triggering flags or restrictions on platforms like LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, LinkedIn Recruiter Lite, X (Twitter), GitHub, Quora, and Slack.
Step 1: Obtain a Proxy
Before you start setting up proxies in TexAu, you’ll need to get one from a reliable provider. Here’s how to choose the right one for your needs:
Choose a Trusted Proxy Provider: Use reputable providers like SmartProxy, Bright Data, or ProxyMesh to ensure your proxy is reliable and secure. They offer different types of proxies to match your automation needs.
- Understand Proxy Options in TexAu:
Residential Proxies: These are IPs assigned to real residential devices, providing higher trust and location-specific access. They are ideal for sensitive platforms like LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, and Slack.
- Trial Plan Users: Residential proxies are included automatically, so you won’t need to buy them separately.
- Free Plan Users: These proxies are not included, and you’ll need to purchase them or upgrade to a trial or paid plan.
- Paid Plan Users: Residential proxies are included automatically, and if you run out, you can buy additional ones from the Add-ons section in TexAu.
External Proxies: TexAu also allows you to use third-party proxies. Follow the steps below to manually add external proxies.
2.Select the Proxy Location: To avoid inconsistencies, choose proxies in the same region as:
- Your usual login location for platforms like LinkedIn, X (Twitter), or Slack.
- Your target location for region-specific tasks (e.g., Google Maps scraping or X tweet searches). TexAu also supports rotational proxies for bulk tasks.
3. Collect Proxy Details: Your provider will give you the following details:
- Proxy Type: HTTP or SOCKS
- IP Address
- Port Number
- Username and Password (if required)
Tip: Residential proxies are best for LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, and Recruiter Lite to minimize account restrictions.
Step 2: Add a Proxy to TexAu
Once you have your proxy details, follow these steps to configure them in TexAu:
- Log in to Your TexAu Dashboard: Go to your TexAu account and access the dashboard.
- Navigate to Proxy Settings:
- Click the Preferences tab on the side menu.
- Select Proxies under Preferences.
- Add a New Proxy:
- Click the Add Proxy button to open the configuration form.
- Fill in the details:
- Proxy Type: Choose HTTP or SOCKS, depending on your provider’s specification.
- IP Address: Enter the proxy server’s IP (e.g., 192.168.1.1).
- Port: Enter the port number provided by your proxy service.
- Username and Password: Add credentials if required.
- Test the Proxy Connection:
- Click Test Proxy to check if the connection works. TexAu will send a test request to verify the proxy’s functionality.
- If the test is successful, you’ll see a confirmation message. If it fails, double-check the details or reach out to your proxy provider.
- Save the Proxy: Once the proxy is tested and confirmed, click Save to store it in TexAu. You’ll see the proxy listed in the Proxies section.
Screenshot Suggestion: Highlight the Proxy Settings screen with fields for IP address, port, proxy type, and credentials clearly visible.
Step 3: Assign the Proxy to Specific Accounts
After adding the proxy, assign it to specific accounts or automations to ensure tasks run through the configured proxy server.
- Open the Accounts Section:
- Navigate to the Accounts section in TexAu to configure proxies for platforms like LinkedIn, X (Twitter), or others.
- Or access the automation directly from the Automation Store or Desktop App.
- Locate the Proxy Configuration:
- In the account or automation setup screen, scroll down to find the Proxy section.
- A dropdown menu will appear for you to choose the proxy.
- Assign the Proxy:
- From the dropdown, select the proxy you added earlier. If you’ve added multiple proxies, pick the one that matches your platform or region.
- Save Changes:
- Click Save to confirm the settings.
- Run the Automation:
- Start the automation. TexAu will now route all requests through the assigned proxy, ensuring consistent and secure activity.
Tip: Always test the proxy with a smaller task before running large-scale automations to avoid errors.

- Proxies for Trial and Paid Users: Residential proxies are assigned by default. If you consume all the available proxies, you can purchase more from the Add-ons section.
