    Tutorial

    Overview

The LinkedIn Public Profile Scraper automation allows you to gather publicly available data from LinkedIn profiles based on URLs you provide. This tool is useful for recruiters, sales teams, and marketers who want to build lead lists, track potential candidates, or gather competitor insights. Follow this guide to configure the automation, with options to export data to Google Sheets or CSV for efficient data management.

Step 1: Log in to the TexAu App and Locate the Automation

Log in to your TexAu account at v2-prod.texau.com. In the Automation Store, type LinkedIn Public Profile Scraper in the search bar to find the tool quickly.

Step 2: Connect to LinkedIn with TexAu

To enable TexAu to access LinkedIn data, connect your LinkedIn account. Click Add Account and select LinkedIn. TexAu offers two secure connection options:

    • Magic Link: Sends a secure link to your email, allowing you to connect without entering cookies manually.
    • Add Account: Connects directly using TexAu’s built-in browser extension for easy setup.

Tip: Magic Link is a secure and fast way to connect your LinkedIn account without handling cookies.

    step2

Step 3: Select Your Input Source

Once connected, define the input source to specify the profiles you want to scrape. TexAu allows you to enter a single LinkedIn Profile URL or upload a list of URLs using Google Sheets or CSV.

    1. Single Profile URL: For a quick, single-profile data extraction, enter the LinkedIn Profile URL. This option is useful if you’re focusing on one lead or candidate for a detailed analysis.
    2. Google Sheet or CSV for Multiple Profiles: To scrape data from multiple profiles, use a Google Sheet or CSV file. List each LinkedIn Profile URL in a separate row, then paste the Google Sheet URL or upload the CSV file in TexAu. This setup enables you to gather data from many profiles in one run, saving time and effort.
    3. Filtering Options: To target specific types of profiles, you can add filters like location or job title in your LinkedIn searches. This lets you focus only on profiles relevant to your recruiting or sales objectives.

    step3

Step 4: Schedule the Automation (Optional)

If you’d like TexAu to run the automation at specific times, use the scheduling feature. Click Schedule to set the date and time, or configure a Recurrence Frequency to repeat the automation:

    • At Regular Intervals (e.g., every 6 hours or every day)
    • Once
    • Every Day
    • On Specific Days of the Week (e.g., every Tuesday and Friday)
    • On Specific Days of the Month (e.g., the 1st and 15th)
    • On Specific Dates (e.g., February 10)

Scheduling is helpful if you need frequent data updates on specific profiles, allowing you to keep your records current.

    step4

Step 5: Set an Iteration Delay (Optional)

To prevent LinkedIn from flagging rapid requests, set an Iteration Delay to control the interval between each profile extraction. Configure both Minimum Delay and Maximum Delay values to introduce variability, simulating a natural browsing pattern. Adjust this delay in seconds, minutes, hours, or days, based on your needs.

    step5

Step 6: Choose Your Output Mode (Optional)

In Output Mode, select how you’d like to save and manage the extracted profile data. Export data to Google Sheets or CSV file for easy handling and sharing.

    1. Export Options: Choose Google Sheets or CSV file for data export. Link your Google account if you select Google Sheets, enabling direct export to Google Drive.
    2. Output Management:
      • Append (Default): Adds each new dataset to the end of the existing file, creating a cumulative list of profiles.
      • Split: Each automation run creates a new file, useful for keeping data organized by session.
      • Overwrite: Replaces previous data with the latest extraction, ideal if you’re only tracking recent profiles.
    3. Duplicate Management: Use Deduplicate to remove duplicate entries, ensuring your data remains clean and organized.

Tip: Exporting directly to Google Sheets is a great option for teams, allowing for real-time access and collaboration.

    step6

Step 7: Run the Automation on Cloud or Desktop

Once all configurations are complete, click Run to start the automation. Choose whether to run on Cloud or Desktop mode:

    • Cloud: Runs the automation on TexAu’s servers, perfect for hands-free operation.
    • Desktop: Run locally on your device if you prefer using your own IP address, which can help simulate manual activity.

Tip: Running automations on Desktop mode saves cloud runtime costs and offers more control over task execution.

    step7

Step 8: Access the Data from the Data Store

After the automation completes, go to the Data Store section in TexAu to access the extracted profile data. Locate the LinkedIn Public Profile Scraper automation and click See Data to view or download the results.

    step8

The LinkedIn Public Profile Scraper automation streamlines data collection from LinkedIn profiles, making it easy to build organized datasets for lead generation, recruiting, and market research. With scheduling options, flexible input sources, and export to Google Sheets or CSV, this tool helps sales and marketing teams gather actionable insights from LinkedIn efficiently.
