    Overview

    The Twitter Search Extractor automation allows you to extract tweets based on specific search criteria, enabling efficient tracking of relevant topics, hashtags, or mentions. This feature is ideal for marketers, researchers, and growth hackers who want to analyze trends, monitor competitors, or engage with their target audience. With options for customization, scheduling, and data export, this tool ensures effective data extraction from Twitter.

    Step 1: Connect to Twitter with TexAu

    Log in to your TexAu account at v2-prod.texau.com. Connect your Twitter account. Click Add Account and select Twitter. TexAu provides secure methods for account integration:

    • Share Via Magic Link: Receive a secure email link to authenticate your account without manual input.
    • Add Account via Browser Extension: Use TexAu’s extension to link your account seamlessly.

    Tip: Use the Magic Link for a quick and hassle-free setup without worrying about entering cookies manually.

    Step 2: Log in to the TexAu App and Locate the Automation

    Navigate to the Automation Store and enter Twitter Search Extractor in the search bar to locate this tool, which helps you extract tweets based on your search criteria.

    Step 3: Choose Cloud or Desktop Automation

    Select your preferred execution mode for the automation:

    Single Input

    Use this option to extract tweets based on a single search query.

    • Account: Select the Twitter account to use for the extraction.
    • Search URL: Enter the search query or URL to fetch tweets.
    • Extraction Category (Optional): Choose between Top (Default), Latest, People, or Media to filter results.
    • Extract Limit (Optional): Set the number of tweets to extract (Max: 100 per launch).

    Google Sheets

    Use this option to extract tweets for multiple search queries stored in a spreadsheet.

    1. Connect Your Google Account
      Click Select Google Account to link or choose an existing account. Use Add New Google Sheet Account if required.
    2. Select Your Spreadsheet
      Click Open Google Drive to locate the Google Sheet. Choose the spreadsheet and specific sheet where queries are stored.
    3. Adjust Processing Options
      • Number of Rows to Process (Optional): Define how many rows to process.
      • Number of Rows to Skip (Optional): Skip rows if needed.
    4. Provide Input Details
      • Search URL: Ensure the sheet contains valid search URLs or keywords.
      • Extraction Category (Optional): Specify the type of results to extract.
      • Extract Limit (Optional): Set the number of tweets to extract per query.
    5. Add Additional Features
      Use Loop Mode to restart from the beginning of the sheet after processing all rows.

    Process a CSV File

    Use this option to extract tweets from a static list of search queries.

    • Upload the File
      Click Upload CSV File to import the file with search URLs or keywords. Verify the data in the preview.
    • Adjust Processing Settings\
      • Number of Rows to Process (Optional): Set the number of rows for processing.
      • Number of Rows to Skip (Optional): Define how many rows to skip.
    • Provide Input Details
      • Search URL: Ensure URLs or keywords in the CSV file are valid.
      • Extraction Category (Optional): Specify the type of results to extract.
      • Extract Limit (Optional): Set the maximum number of tweets to extract per query.

    Step 5: Schedule the Automation (Optional)

    Schedule the automation to run at specific times to manage tweet extraction efficiently. Click Schedule and configure the timing:

    • None: Run the automation immediately.
    • At Regular Intervals: Set a specific interval (e.g., every hour or day).
    • Once: Execute the automation at a designated time.
    • Every Day: Run daily at the same time.
    • On Specific Days of the Week: Schedule specific days (e.g., every Monday).
    • On Specific Dates: Choose exact calendar dates (e.g., December 1).

    Tip: Scheduling ensures consistent data updates while preventing overactivity during off-hours.

    Step 6: Set an Iteration Delay (Optional)

    Avoid detection and simulate human-like activity by setting an iteration delay. Choose minimum and maximum time intervals to add randomness between actions. This makes your activity look natural and reduces the chance of being flagged.

    • Minimum Delay: Enter the shortest interval (e.g., 10 seconds).
    • Maximum Delay: Enter the longest interval (e.g., 20 seconds).

    Tip: Random delays keep your automation safe and reliable.

    Step 7: Choose Your Output Mode (Optional)

    Choose how to save and manage the extracted tweet data. TexAu provides the following options:

    • Append (Default): Adds new results to the end of existing data, merging them into a single CSV file.
    • Split: Saves new results as separate CSV files for each automation run.
    • Overwrite: Replaces previous data with the latest results.
    • Duplicate Management: Enable Deduplicate (Default) to remove duplicate rows.

    Tip: Google Sheets export makes it easy to collaborate with your team in real time, particularly useful for tweet analysis and reporting.

    Step 8: Access the Data from the Data Store

    After the automation completes, navigate to the Data Store section in TexAu. Locate the Twitter Search Extractor automation and click See Data to view or download the extracted tweets.
