Overview
The LinkedIn Group Search Export automation helps you gather information from LinkedIn groups based on specific keywords, enabling you to track conversations, monitor engagement, or analyze industry trends within LinkedIn groups. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up this automation to export results to Google Sheets or CSV, making it ideal for marketers, growth hackers, and sales teams.
Step 1: Log in to the TexAu App and Locate the Automation
Begin by logging in to your TexAu account at v2-prod.texau.com. In the Automation Store, type LinkedIn Group Search Export in the search bar to quickly find the tool.
Step 2: Connect to LinkedIn with TexAu
To access LinkedIn data, connect your LinkedIn account to TexAu. Click Add Account and select LinkedIn. You have two connection options:
- Magic Link: Sends a secure link to your registered email for a quick login without needing cookies.
- Add Account: Connects directly using TexAu’s built-in browser extension.
Tip: Magic Link provides a quick, secure login method without the need for manual cookie input.
Step 3: Select Your Input Source
With LinkedIn connected, specify your input source to define the search criteria for the groups you want to extract posts from. Choose from a single keyword or group URL, or use a bulk input option like a Google Sheet or CSV file.
Single Group or Keyword: Enter a single LinkedIn Group URL or keyword in the LinkedIn Group Search URL field. This is useful if you’re targeting a specific group or monitoring discussions on a particular topic.
Google Sheet or CSV for Multiple Groups: For tracking multiple groups or keywords, use a Google Sheet or CSV file. List each group URL or keyword on a separate line in the file, then paste the Google Sheet URL or upload the CSV file to TexAu. This allows you to gather posts from multiple groups in one automation run.
LinkedIn Filters: When creating your LinkedIn Group Search URL, apply filters for more precise targeting, such as:
- Content Type: Focus on posts with specific types of content, such as images or documents.
- Date Range: Limit results to recent posts within a specific time frame, like the past week or month.
- Location and Language: Target groups in a specific region or language, if needed.
Customizing your search using filters refines the results, helping you capture only the most relevant discussions within LinkedIn groups.
Step 4: Schedule the Automation (Optional)
Set up a schedule if you’d like the automation to run at specific times or intervals. Click Schedule to choose the date and time for running the automation, or configure a Recurrence Frequency to automatically repeat the task:
- At Regular Intervals (e.g., every hour or every 6 hours)
- Once
- Every Day
- On Specific Days of the Week (e.g., Tuesdays and Fridays)
- On Specific Days of the Month (e.g., the 5th and 20th)
- On Specific Dates (e.g., November 25)
Scheduling the automation is helpful if you want to monitor LinkedIn group discussions over time to capture ongoing trends and insights.
Step 5: Set an Iteration Delay (Optional)
To simulate natural usage and avoid LinkedIn security triggers, set an Iteration Delay to control the interval between extractions. Set Minimum Delay and Maximum Delay options to create variability between each request. You can adjust these settings in seconds, minutes, hours, or days.
Step 6: Choose Your Output Mode (Optional)
Select your Output Mode to determine how TexAu saves and exports data. You can export data to Google Sheets or a CSV file based on your preference for analysis and sharing.
- Export Options: Choose either Google Sheets or CSV file as the export destination. For Google Sheets, connect your Google account to enable automatic export to Google Drive.
- Output Management:
- Append (Default): Adds each new set of data to the existing file, creating a cumulative list of group posts.
- Split: Saves each run in a new file, useful if you want separate records for each extraction.
- Overwrite: Replaces old data with the latest extraction, ideal for tracking the most current discussions.
- Duplicate Management: Use Deduplicate to remove duplicate entries across extractions, keeping your dataset clean and organized.
Tip: Exporting directly to Google Sheets is a convenient option for real-time collaboration and easy sharing with team members.
Step 7: Run the Automation on Cloud or Desktop
Once you’ve configured all settings, click Run to start the automation. TexAu offers flexibility in running automations either on Cloud or Desktop mode:
- Cloud: Run the automation from TexAu’s servers for hands-free execution.
- Desktop: Choose this option if you prefer to use your own device’s IP, which can simulate local activity and avoid cloud usage.
Tip: Running the automation on Desktop mode saves cloud run-time costs and gives you additional control over the task.
Step 8: Access the Data from the Data Store
After the automation completes, go to the Data Store in TexAu to access your collected data. Locate the LinkedIn Group Search Export automation and click See Data to view or download the results.
The LinkedIn Group Search Export automation provides a seamless way to track LinkedIn group discussions around specific keywords or topics. With customizable scheduling, flexible input options, and easy export to Google Sheets or CSV, this tool enables marketers, growth hackers, and sales teams to gather valuable insights, monitor conversations, and analyze group engagement trends effortlessly.
