Tutorial
Overview
The LinkedIn Online Status Checker automation allows you to monitor the online status of specific LinkedIn profiles, helping you determine when key contacts or prospects are active. This tool is ideal for sales teams, recruiters, and networkers who want to time outreach efforts effectively. Follow this guide to configure the automation, with options to export data to Google Sheets or CSV for organized tracking.
Step 1: Log in to the TexAu App and Locate the Automation
Log in to your TexAu account at v2-prod.texau.com. Go to the Automation Store and use the search bar to locate LinkedIn Online Status Checker.
Step 2: Connect to LinkedIn with TexAu
To allow TexAu to access LinkedIn profiles and check their online status, connect your LinkedIn account. Click Add Account and select LinkedIn. TexAu offers two secure connection options:
- Magic Link: Sends a secure link to your email, enabling login without handling cookies.
- Add Account: Connects directly using TexAu’s built-in browser extension, simplifying setup.
Tip: Magic Link provides a fast and secure way to connect without needing to manage cookies manually.
Step 3: Select Your Input Source
Once LinkedIn is connected, specify the input source to define which profiles you want to check for online status. You can enter a single LinkedIn Profile URL or upload a list of URLs via Google Sheets or CSV.
- Single Profile URL: For a one-time status check, enter the LinkedIn Profile URL of the target profile. This option is useful if you’re monitoring a specific prospect or contact.
- Google Sheet or CSV for Multiple Profiles: For bulk status checking, use a Google Sheet or CSV file. List each LinkedIn Profile URL in a separate row, then paste the Google Sheet URL or upload the CSV file in TexAu. This setup allows you to check the online status of multiple profiles in one automation run.
- Filtering Options: Apply filters to target specific types of contacts, such as industry or location, to help you focus on the most relevant profiles for your goals.
Step 4: Schedule the Automation (Optional)
To run the automation at specific times, use TexAu’s scheduling feature. Click Schedule to set the start date and time or configure a Recurrence Frequency for ongoing monitoring:
- At Regular Intervals (e.g., every hour or every 4 hours)
- Once
- Every Day
- On Specific Days of the Week (e.g., every Monday and Wednesday)
- On Specific Days of the Month (e.g., the 1st and 15th)
- On Specific Dates (e.g., March 10)
Scheduling is useful for keeping tabs on online status at optimal times, allowing for timely engagement.
Step 5: Set an Iteration Delay (Optional)
To avoid LinkedIn’s rate limits, set an Iteration Delay to control the interval between each status check. Configure Minimum Delay and Maximum Delay values to add variability, simulating natural behavior. Adjust the delay in seconds, minutes, or hours as needed.
Step 6: Choose Your Output Mode (Optional)
In Output Mode, select how you want to save and manage the data on profile status checks. Exporting to Google Sheets or CSV file makes it easy to track and analyze results.
- Export Options: Choose Google Sheets or CSV file as your output destination. If selecting Google Sheets, link your Google account for direct export to Google Drive.
- Output Management:
- Append (Default): Adds each status check to the end of the existing file, creating a cumulative log of online activity.
- Split: Each run generates a new file, useful for organizing data by session.
- Overwrite: Replaces previous data with the latest status check, ideal if you only need the most recent status.
- Duplicate Management: Enable Deduplicate to automatically remove duplicate entries, ensuring clean, organized data.
Tip: Google Sheets export is ideal for real-time tracking of online activity, especially for team-based outreach efforts.
Step 7: Run the Automation on Cloud or Desktop
Once configurations are set, click Run to start the automation. Choose to run on Cloud or Desktop mode:
- Cloud: Runs the automation on TexAu’s servers, ideal for hands-free operation.
- Desktop: Run locally on your device if you prefer using your IP address, which can help simulate manual usage.
Tip: Running automations on Desktop mode saves cloud runtime costs and provides more control over task execution.
Step 8: Access the Data from the Data Store
After the automation completes, go to the Data Store section in TexAu to access the online status data. Locate the LinkedIn Online Status Checker automation and click See Data to view or download the results.
The LinkedIn Online Status Checker automation makes it easy to track when LinkedIn contacts are active, helping you time outreach efforts effectively. With options for scheduling, bulk status checks, and export to Google Sheets or CSV, this tool is valuable for sales, recruitment, and networking professionals looking to engage contacts at optimal times.
