The Reddit Subreddit Comments Export automation allows you to extract and export comments from a specific subreddit or multiple subreddits. This tool is valuable for marketers, researchers, and businesses aiming to analyze discussions, monitor sentiment, or gather insights from Reddit communities. Follow this guide to configure the automation, export results to Google Sheets or CSV, and run it on the cloud or desktop.
Step 1: Log in to the TexAu App and Locate the Automation
Log in to your TexAu account at v2-prod.texau.com. Navigate to the Automation Store and enter Reddit Subreddit Comments Export in the search bar to locate this tool. This automation helps you fetch and analyze comments from one or more subreddits.

- Extract Limit (Optional): Specify the maximum number of comments to extract. Default is unlimited.
- Sort (Optional): Choose how the comments should be sorted (Relevance, Hot, Top, or New).
Google Sheets
This option allows you to process multiple subreddit URLs stored in a Google Sheet.
- Connect your Google account
- Select an already connected account or link a new Google account using the Add New Google Sheet Account option.
- Select your spreadsheet
- Click Open Google Drive to locate your sheet containing subreddit URLs.
- Choose the spreadsheet and the specific sheet where data is stored.
- Set processing options
- Number of Rows to Process (Optional): Define how many rows to scrape.
- Number of Rows to Skip (Optional): Skip rows if needed.
- Provide input details
- Reddit Subreddit URL: Ensure the correct column contains subreddit URLs.
- Extract Limit (Optional): Set the extraction limit for each URL.
- Sort (Optional): Choose the sorting method for comments.
- Enable Loop Mode (Optional)
- Activate Loop Mode to reprocess the sheet once all rows are completed.
Process a CSV File
This method is suitable for extracting comments from static subreddit URLs listed in a CSV file.
- Upload the CSV file
- Use Upload CSV File to select the file containing subreddit URLs.
- TexAu will preview the file content for verification.
- Configure processing settings
- Number of Rows to Process (Optional): Specify the number of rows to extract.
- Number of Rows to Skip (Optional): Define rows to be skipped.
- Provide input details
- Reddit Subreddit URL: Ensure the correct column in the file contains subreddit URLs.
- Extract Limit (Optional): Specify how many comments to extract.
- Sort (Optional): Select the sorting method for comments.

Step 3: Execute Automations on TexAu Desktop or Cloud
- Open the automation setup and select Desktop Mode.
- Click Choose a Desktop to Run this Automation.
- From the platform, select your connected desktop (status will show as "Connected") or choose a different desktop mode or account.
- Click “Use This” after selecting the desktop to run the automation on your local system.
- Alternatively, if you wish to run the automation on the cloud, click Run directly without selecting a desktop.
Step 4: Schedule the Automation (Optional)
Set up a schedule to extract subreddit comments periodically. Click Schedule and configure the start time and recurrence frequency:

- At Regular Intervals (e.g., every 6 hours)
- Once
- Every Day
- On Specific Days of the Week (e.g., every Monday and Friday)
- On Specific Days of the Month (e.g., the 1st and 15th)
- On Specific Dates (e.g., January 10)

Split: Saves new results as separate CSV files for each automation run.
Overwrite: Replaces previous data with the latest results.
Duplicate Management: Enable Deduplicate (Default) to remove duplicate rows.
