This tutorial will guide you step-by-step to set up and run the automation, including scheduling, customizing delays, and exporting data to Google Sheets or CSV.
Step 1: Log in to the TexAu App and Locate the Automation
Log in to your TexAu account at TexAu. Navigate to the Automation Store and type Twitter Topic Feed Export in the search bar. Click the automation to access its setup page.
Step 2: Connect to Twitter with TexAu
To extract tweets, you need to connect your Twitter account to TexAu. Click Add Account and select Twitter. Choose one of the following connection methods:
- Magic Link: A secure link will be sent to your email for a seamless connection without entering credentials.
- Add Account: Connect via TexAu’s browser extension for manual account setup.
Tip: Magic Link is the quickest and most secure method for connecting your Twitter account.
Step 3: Select Your Input Source
Define the topics or hashtags you want to extract tweets from. TexAu offers these options:
- Manually Enter Keywords/Hashtags: Input one or more topics (e.g., “#Marketing”) directly in the field.
- Google Sheets: Use a Google Sheet to list multiple topics or hashtags. Paste the sheet's link after sharing access.
- CSV File: Upload a CSV file containing the topics or hashtags in one column.
Tip: Use Google Sheets or CSV for bulk processing or automation of multiple topics efficiently.
Step 4: Schedule the Automation (Optional)
Automate the process by scheduling the task to run at specific times. Click Schedule to configure:
- None: Run the automation manually.
- At Regular Intervals: Repeat every few hours or days.
- On Specific Days: Run the task on designated days or dates.
Tip: Regular scheduling helps track trending topics consistently.
Step 5: Set an Iteration Delay (Optional)
Prevent detection by Twitter by simulating human-like behavior. Set Minimum Delay and Maximum Delay values to randomize intervals between tweet extractions.
Example: Delay each action by 30–60 seconds to ensure compliance.
Step 6: Choose Your Output Mode (Optional)
Customize how you’d like to export and manage the extracted data:
- Export to Google Sheets: Link your account for direct updates to Google Drive.
- Export to CSV File: Download the data for offline use.
- Data Management Options:
- Append: Adds new data to the existing file.
- Overwrite: Replaces old data with new results.
- Split: Creates a separate file for each run.
Tip: Use the Deduplicate option to avoid duplicate entries across multiple runs.
Step 7: Run the Automation on Cloud or Desktop
Once all configurations are complete, click Run. Select a mode:
- Cloud: TexAu’s servers handle the task remotely, ideal for hands-free execution.
- Desktop: Runs the automation locally on your system, using your IP address for enhanced control.
Tip: Use Desktop mode to save cloud runtime costs.
Step 8: Access the Data from the Data Store
After the automation is complete, navigate to the Data Store on TexAu. Locate the Twitter Topic Feed Export task and click See Data to view or download the results.
